4-year-old girl dies, 2 women critical in wild bee attack in Keonjhar
A four-year-old girl lost her life while her aunties sustained grievous injuries after they were attacked by wild bees in Kasia village under Barbil police limits of Keonjhar district. Her two aunties have been admitted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where their condition remains critical.
The deceased girl has been identified as Nanika Laguri, niece of the two injured sisters Sujata Munda and Lakshmi Munda. The incident occurred while they were working in their agricultural field.
According to sources, the little girl had come to the village on the visit. The two sisters Sujata and Lakshmi took her along with them to their agricultural field. The little girl was playing under a tree while her aunties were working in the paddy field.
Wild bees suddenly attacked the little girl while her aunties were working in the field. Hearing her screams, both of them rushed to her rescue but they were also bitten by the bees. Locals rescued the trio in critical condition and admitted to the hospital.
However, the little girl succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
“They were working in their paddy field when the bees attacked them. The little girl died while the condition of the two sisters still remains critical,” informed Kanak Munda, the victim’s relative.
