Telangana pharma factory blast

Three days have passed since a severe explosion at a chemical factory in Telangana, and five workers from Odisha continue to be unaccounted for, sparking concerns among their families. Efforts to locate them are ongoing but have so far proven fruitless.

The explosion has already resulted in the deaths of four persons hailing from Odisha, while another four victims are receiving critical medical care. The deceased have been identified as Jagan Mohan from Ganjam, Lagnijit Duari from Tigiria in Cuttack, Manoj Raut from Simulia in Balasore, and Dolagobinda Sahu from Jajpur.

Efforts continue to locate the five missing workers from Odisha who have been missing since a catastrophic pharma factory explosion in Telangana. Family members fear they may be killed in the tragic incident, which occurred three days ago.

Their families are in a state of dilemma as there is no official confirmation in this regard. In response to this tragic incident, personnel from the Odisha government have been dispatched to the site for inspection.
The search and identification of all victims remain paramount, as families in Odisha await definitive news concerning their loved ones.

Notably, Sigachi Industries Limited, a pharmaceutical company involved in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and vitamin blends, was operating at the site when an explosion occurred. Though the exact cause is yet to be officially confirmed, authorities suspect a reaction involving hazardous chemicals may have triggered the fire and explosion.

When contacted, Pritish Panda, OSD, Directorate of Odisha Paribar, who is part of the two-member team that has gone to Telangana along with Dr. Chandra Sekhar Hota, O.P.S. said, “We have reached here as per the directives of the Odisha government. Currently, the rescue operation is on and many workers are still missing. Till now, it is ascertained that four Odia workers have died while another four are undergoing treatment with critical injuries. We met the injured and have taken their health updates. One of them is in serious condition with 35% burn injuries.”
