At least four people were crushed to death when the four-wheeler they were traveling in collided with a tractor near Lachipur Chhak in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, under the jurisdiction of Khadial police. The driver of the car also died in the tragic accident, according to reports.

While the identity of the deceased has not yet been ascertained, Khadial police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The unidentified bodies were seized and sent for autopsy.

It is suspected that the four were en route to Bhawanipatna when their four-wheeler rammed into the tractor near Lachipur Chhak. However, the reason and the circumstances leading to the horrific mishap still remain unclear.

The intensity of the collision between the two vehicles was so much that the car was completely damaged in the mishap. Meanwhile, the tractor driver is currently on the run after the accident, reports said.

A case has been registered in connection with this, and the police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the absconding tractor driver.
