30 drug dealers nabbed by Bargarh Police in special drive

Cracking the whip on drug peddlers, Bargarh Police on Tuesday nabbed 30 drug dealers involved in smuggling of illegal cough syrups.

The peddlers were arrested in a special drive launched by Bargarh SP to curb drug and illegal cough syrup smuggling in the area.

As per reports, the Police raided several places including Padampur, Jagdalpur, Paikmal, Buden, Gaisilet and Melchamunda and arrested the peddlers.

Following the arrest, all the accused have been sent to the office of the SP.

Recently in March, Bolangir Police arrested at least 38 people after busting an inter-state cough syrup smuggling racket under a special operation.

The police had seized 12,960 bottles of cough syrup worth Rs 35 lakh, one country-made pistol, three cars, two motorcycles, 17 mobile phones, cash and other incriminating articles.
