3 killed, 4 critical in separate lightning strike incidents in Odisha
As many as three persons were killed and four other sustained critical injuries in two separate lightning strike incidents in Odisha on Sunday.
While two farmers died in Pattamundai area in Kendrapara, another person died due to lightning strike in Balasore.
According to sources, one Bijay Mallick of Basudevpur village under Dosia panchayat in Kendrapara district had gone to his field when lightning struck him.
He was immediately rushed to Pattamundai hospital where doctor declared in him brought dead.
Similarly, Raj Kishore Pradhan, another farmer from Garagaon village under Bilikana panchayat in the district, also died in the lighting strike.
In Balasore, five members of a family from Wada village under Soro block had gone to their field when the lighting struck them.
The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital where one of them died while undergoing treatment.
Earlier yesterday, lightning strike claimed 10 lives in the State. Lightning strike deaths were reported from the districts of Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Ganjam, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal.
