Odisha CM Mohan Majhi
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who participated in BJP’s membership drive organised at Barchana in Jajpur, trained guns at the former BJD government over large-scale irregularities in the State in the name of development.
Without taking names, CM Majhi launched a scathing attack on three BJD leaders and said, "Three families have looted Jajpur in the name of development. Such leaders have not given justice to people and destroyed the area."
“BJD ruled the State for 24 years. The BJD leaders, who were representing Jajpur, never refrained themselves from acting as slaves. Jajpur is rich in mines and minerals. But, there is no development of people in the area,” CM Majhi added.
Addressing the gathering, the CM also announced that there will be an investigation into the lady Panchayat Executive Officer Smitarani Biswal's death case and stern action will be taken against those found guilty.
“The BJD blows ‘respect to women’ trumpet but we have seen what had happened in the last two to three years. Dharmasala PEO was brutally murdered. Those who were blowing the ‘respect to women’ trumpet murdered the PEO. Instead of giving justice to the victim's family, the local leaders were shielded," the CM said, assuring a thorough investigation into the matter and exemplary action against those who will be found guilty.
Raising the malnutrition death issue at Nagada village in the district, the CM said, “Nagada village in the district hogged headlines when 15 children died due to malnutrition. In between, many years have passed, but there is no development in the region,” CM Majhi said.
Responding to CM Majhi’s jibe, BJD Rajya Sabha MP Sulata Deo said, “In 2016, there were 335 habitants in Nagada and now the number has gone up to 687 in 2024. Why the CM is groping in the dark? Why is he not revealing the three names? It would be better if the CM comes with names and evidence.”
