3 dead in head-on collision between bus, pick-up van in Odisha; 4 injured

Three persons lost their lives and four others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a pick-up van at Khadbhaga on NH 59 near Ganjam’s Aska on Friday.

As per reports, the bus was en route to Berhampur from Sorada when it collided with the pick-up van near Khadbhaga.

Upon getting the news, police and fire fighting personnel reached the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to the Aska hospital.

The police have launched a probe into the matter.

Recently, six people were killed while nine others sustained injuries after a truck they were travelling in overturned over Bangiriposhi ghat in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday morning.

The truck belonged to the Jatra troupe ‘Dhauli Gananatya’. The Jatra troupe was on its way to Baripada from Rairangpur’s Basangi. According to reports, the driver lost control of the wheel while negotiating a turn at Duarasuni Ghat.
