3 bodies found inside house in Koraput; 3 die in road accident in Mayurbhanj

In a tragic incident, three members of a family including a couple and their child were found dead inside their house at Toyaput village under Laxmipur block in Koraput on Sunday.

While the husband was found hanging inside the house, his wife’s body was lying on the sofa set. Their four-year-old child’s body was also found under the sofa.

Upon being informed, Laxmipur police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. 

A pal of gloom descended the area following the incident. Friends and relatives of the family have been crest-fallen. The exact reason behind the tragic incident is yet to be ascertained. 

Speculation is rife in the area that the husband killed his wife and child following an altercation.

Some local people are also of the opinion that the family was going through severe financial crisis for the last few years. And, the situation was leading to frequent altercations between the couple which forced the husband to kill his wife and son at the spur of the moment before hanging himself with a rope inside the house.

As per police sources, the reason behind the tragic incident will be revealed after a thorough investigation. The bodies have reportedly been sent for post mortem.

In another incident, three persons died after the bike they were riding on reportedly fell into Deo canal near Hatibari area under Karanjia police limits in Mayurbhanj district.

Reportedly four persons were on the bike when the mishap took place. Another person, who sustained injuries in the accident, has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
