27 years after Bhubaneswar Baramunda triple murder, three accused get lifers

About 27 years after the sensational triple murder that had taken place in Baramunda in Bhubaneswar, a court pronounced its verdict on Friday and sentenced three persons to life imprisonment.

According to reports, Bhubaneswar ADJ court-2 convicted three accused – Chittaranjan, Rudranaryan, and Jitu - in connection with the murders. The fourth accused in the case has already died. 

On July 11, 1996, Biswajit Nayak, Dillip B. Ray, and Sarada Rath were brutally hacked to death by four persons in Baramunda over past enmity. The triple murder had sent shockwaves across the state back then.
