Monkey goes on rampage in Balasore
Monkey menace in different villages under Soro Municipality area in Balasore district has left 25 people injured in the last one month. The injured persons are currently undergoing treatment in different hospitals.
As per reports, the villagers were in a state of panic after a rogue monkey unleashed a reign of terror in the area by going on a biting spree. Even the monkey entered the house of Soro MLA Madhab Dhada.
The helpless residents had no alternative but to draw the attention of the Forest Department to capture the rogue monkey.
After receiving the complaint, the Forest Department officials reached the area and tried to capture the marauding monkey. However, they were yet to capture the monkey.
“A red monkey is targeting children and elderly people and biting them. Though they have got treatment in the hospital, their pain is not reducing,” said a local resident.
“A monkey has bitten nearly 25 people in the area. The Forest Department is trying its best to capture the monkey. Even the monkey had entered my house. However, we somehow managed to drive it away. Efforts are underway to capture the monkey. Hopefully, it will be captured soon,” said Soro MLA Madhab Dhada.
