Acting on a tip-off, the state Commercial Taxes (CT) and GST officials on Friday seized around 20kg of gold from a passenger at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). The huge amount of gold was seized from the passenger who landed in Bhubaneswar from Mumbai by an IndiGo flight.

The consignment was seized as the carrier failed to produce valid documents. The CT GST officials have detained the passenger, believed to be a businessman. He is currently being interrogated for further details, reports said.

The consignment was being transported in packets that were supposed to be shipped to Kalahandi and Angul.
