2 siblings charred to death as fire engulfs house in Kendrapara

Fire engulfs house in Kendrapara

In a tragic incident, at least two children, who happen to be brother and sister, were charred to death after a major fire engulfed their thatched house at Balrampur village under Rajnagar police station in Kendrapara district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as 11-year-old Anupama Sahani and her nine-year-old younger brother Rishi Sahani.

As per reports, both Anupama and Rishi, who are the children of Sumant Sahani, were asleep at their home. The fire broke out at around 8 am when the parents of both the children were away from the house for work. Unfortunately, both the children were charred to death.

However, the reason behind the breaking out of fire is yet to be ascertained. Local residents are suspecting that the fire might have engulfed the house due to the explosion of the gas cylinder.

Upon being informed, Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.

A pal of gloom has descended the area following the tragic incident.
