2 medical students drown, 1 missing at Jalatarangini Waterfalls on Andhra-Malkangiri border

In a tragic incident, two medical students from Eluru Asram Medical College in Andhra Pradesh drowned while another went missing while clicking pictures at Jalatarangini Waterfalls in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Andhra-Malkangiri border.

Meanwhile, three other medicos were rescued successfully by the police and have been admitted to the local hospital. As per sources, the medicos from Eluru Asram Medical College had gone to the waterfalls as part of a picnic.

At least 14 students of the medical college had been to the Waterfalls when the incident occurred. The five students were clicking pictures near the waterfalls when they were swept away in the heavy tide.

Police with the help of locals managed to rescue two of them while one is missing and two of them met watery grave, reports said. 
The two bodies were rescued and taken to autopsy while the NDRF teams have been pressed to conduct search operations in the waterfalls and find the missing person.

The waterfall is in a dense forest area and is heavily flooded due to the ongoing rainfall. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway, reports said.
