2 killed in road mishap in Khordha; 6 ITBP jawans injured in separate accident

At least two persons died in a major road accident near Pitapali Chhak in Khordha district on Tuesday. As per reports, the casualties were reported after a pick-up van collided with a stationary truck on the road. The identities of the deceased persons are not ascertained yet.

However, Infovalley Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the mishap.

In another incident, six jawans of the ITBP sustained injuries in a road accident near Bolgad on Khordha-Bolangir NH-57. Sources said the accident occurred when the ITBP van, carrying the jawans, overturned after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.

All the injured ITBP jawans have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital. Preliminary reports suggest that the ITBP vehicle from Khordha camp was on its way to Chhattisgarh carrying various items.
