As many as 2,000 applications for Subhadra Yojana have been rejected so far, informed Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday.

According to Parida, as many as 97,000 applications for Subhadra Yojana were pending by Tuesday night. All the applications have been cleared except 2,000 applicants due to likely mistakes in bank accounts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the mega Subhadra scheme- a significant initiative designed for women of Odisha at a special function held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

Under the Subhadra scheme, women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29.

The first instalment was credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on Tuesday.

With a budget of Rs 55,825 crore allocated for the next five years (2024-29), the financial assistance of Rs 10,000 a year will be provided in two instalments – first on Raksha Bandhan and the second on International Women’s Day, every year.
