A 14-year-old minor boy was accused of triple murder at Raimani village in Odisha's Bhadrak district on Thursday. 

Bhadrak rural police have detained the accused and his questioning is currently underway as part of the investigation process.

As per reports, bodies of a woman and her daughter with injury marks were found from a field in the village on Wednesday. Subsequently, the minor boy was detained by police on charges of murder. 

A day after the incident, on Thursday, the body of the minor boy’s grandmother was also found near the place.

As per sources, the minor boy asked his grandmother for some money. However, when she refused, the boy allegedly killed her in an inebriated condition.

It has been learnt that the accused has confessed to his crime of killing his grandmother before the police.

Police are suspecting that the minor boy might have also killed the mother-daughter duo two days back.

An investigation into the murder cases has been launched. The post-mortem report is still awaited.

“We have detained the suspected accused after spot verification and primary investigation. Further information about the incident could be revealed following further investigation into the incident,” said Bhadrak SDPO Sourav Ota.

People in the area are shocked following the gruesome murder. As per locals, the minor boy was in an inebriated condition on the fateful day.
