Himansu Shekhar Rout

A leopard, which is believed to have killed two persons and mauled another, was spotted atop a building at Kodapali of Dharma Bandha area under the Sadar range of Nuapada this evening.

The sighting of the killer big cat has sent chills down the spine of local people, who have lost their sleep in panic. 

Meanwhile, the forest department has started a drive to tranquilise the marauding animal that has reportedly killed a minor boy and a woman. It has also mauled another person. However, the Forest department has not yet recovered the body of the woman.

What is worrying for the local residents is that the animal was allegedly trying to pounce upon a minor boy today as well. But the boy miraculously managed to escape from its clutches.  

Villagers believe that it is the same big cat that killed two people. Meanwhile, the Forest Department officials have started all possible efforts to capture it.  

However, no comments have been received from the Forest Department officials.
