A suspected fake doctor was detained by the police from Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore on Monday.
The impersonation came to the fore after some staff of the medical saw the imposter prescribing medicines to the patients and grew suspicious. Upon being asked, he reportedly argued with the security guard as well.
the police were called in who picked up the accused from the hospital for questioning. The police have launched a probe to ascertain his identity and medical qualifications.
Earlier, a man impersonating a doctor has been apprehended by the Bhadrak Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) from the district headquarters hospital premises in February this year.
According to sources, the imposter came to the hospital dressed up as a doctor and asked the security guard the way to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department by introducing him as a new recruit.
Later, he was handed over to the Bhadrak Town Police and during preliminary question, he was found to be a fake doctor.
