Tension erupted at the Baramunda playground in Bhubaneswar on Sunday after the visitors to the vintage and classic car exhibition were allegedly denied entry. Tension flared up at the venue for some hours as people and police had a confrontation over the issue.

As per reports, police have reportedly imposed restrictions on the entry of the general public into the exhibition. On Sunday, a group of people gathered at the gate. They tried to barge into the ground. But they were prevented by police deployed at the site. This led to a tussle between the two sides. The people strongly objected to the entry restriction at the venue. Later, a senior police officer managed to placate angry people.

As per reports, the two-day vintage and classic car show was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday. However, common people were allegedly barred from entering the venue.

A woman, who came to the venue with her son and husband with the hope of watching the exhibition, vented her frustration on the entry restrictions.

“We did not know that only VIPs are allowed here. My husband and son had come here in the morning but could not enter. My son is studying mechanical engineering and is keen to watch vintage cars and their mechanism. We had not come here to create chaos. Over 1500 people had come to see the old cars,” she fumed.
