The 15-day-long ‘Dot Fest’ is going to add even more colour and zest to the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup scheduled to be inaugurated at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. 

The Dot Fest, which is all set to start from January 15 and continue till January 29, will have different programmes to be held at different parts of Bhubaneswar. There will be an International Food Festival at the Idcol Exhibition Ground. There will be over 30 stalls to serve mouth watering delicacies form 16 countries which are participating in the world cup. This apart, tourists and visitors will also enjoy food items from different states and local cuisine. 

On the other side of the exhibition ground, there will be high voltage entertainment programmes. Artistes including playback singers Udit Narayan,  Alka Yagnik, Sukhwinder Singh, Niti Mohan, world famous flautist  Pandit Hari Prasad Chourasia, Sunil Grover and Siddharth Mahadevan will be ensuring a heavy dose of entertainment. 

There will be a special stage in the ground where a photo exhibition named ‘Ebe Sebe’ (Now and Then) will be put up. Photos of the new Bhubaneswar and old Bhubaneswar will find place in this exhibition. After taking a peek at the exhibition, visitors will definitely have an idea of old Bhubaneswar and how it has transformed over time. 

At the same time, at Ekamra Haat, there will be a night market comprising over 60 stalls including a stall of Utkalika. Visitors can buy handlooms and handicrafts from different parts of the State. 

Moreover, there will be several programmes and events which will run concurrently. Tourists can participate in Ekamra Walk and Story Telling at Park. Ekamra Walk is a heritage walk giving the participants an opportunity to know the heritage of the state. 

Since only a few days are left for the festival, preparations for this extravaganza are going on a war footing.   

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the ‘Dot Fest’.

“We are getting ready for the 15-day-long programme at the Exhibition Ground. It will have an international food festival, flea market, photo exhibition and entertainment programmes. Our preparations are at the final stage.  Entry is free for all the programmes but for the entertainment ones. I would like to request all to book tickets online though 'Book My Show.' I would also request all to participate in Dot Fest,” said BDA Vice President, Balwant Singh.
