The suspense over the disappearance of female sub-inspector (SI), Kajal Bag from the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (BBMCH), Bolangir eventually dissipated on Saturday with her father clarifying that she is with them at home.

The SI had disappeared mysteriously from the BBMCH where she was admitted following her alleged suicide bid on August 23 night. The police were also keeping mum about her whereabouts.

However, her father Managovinda Bag on Saturday came forward and said that she is presently staying with the family members.

“She is fit and fine and staying with us at home. She was upset due to family disturbances. Now everything is perfect,” said Managovinda over the phone.

However, it is being questioned that if she had attempted suicide due to family issues then why her father didn’t tell it before the media on the day itself and why he suddenly appeared now.

Notably, Bag was staying at her rented accommodation at Gopabandhu Nagar under Saintala block of Bolangir district. On Wednesday night, the neighbours could hear her speaking with someone loudly over the phone. Thereafter, it is suspected that she consumed anti-mosquito liquid. On being informed by a youth about Bag’s suicide attempt, a team from Saintala Police Station reached her house, rescued her, and immediately rushed her to Saintala government hospital and then shifted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. It was then alleged that she attempted suicide over a love affair.
