A retired army man on Friday unleashed terror on Banki road in Cuttack while moving around brandishing a sword and hammer.

In a scene straight out of a Hindi movie, the retired jawan came from nowhere, ransacked an ATM kiosk and struck terror for at least two hours.

Later, he, identified as Saroj Das of Harirajpur village under Banki police limits, went to Kacheri ground and tried to terrorise people by waving his sword in the air. He even tried to attack the policemen who went to nab him. Subsequently, he went on narrating before the cops how two cheaters duped him of his life savings.

All the while, a bunch of papers were also seen in his hand.

Later, it transpired that he had a written complaint addressed to the inspector-in-charge of Banki police station.

As per his compliant, Ajay Kumar Rout alias Milua and Krushna Mohan Swain alias Bulu cheated him of his life savings promising him help in buying a Hyva truck.

They took Rs 6 lakh from Saroj and gave him a secondhand truck instead of a new one along with a court paper where Milua promised he would return the rest of the money to Saroj with interest. Now even though the promised period of two years has expired, Milua is avoiding him.

In his complaint, Saroj has sought justice from the police. He has even mentioned that if he fails to get justice from the police, he, as a jawan, knows very well how to teach lessons to these cheaters.
