The architectural and sculptural marvels of the 13th-century Sun Temple at Konark in Puri have been attracting visitors from different parts of India and abroad alike.
From now on, Americans, who have not visited Konark as yet, will get an idea of the temple’s architectural designs with a replica of the huge wheel of the temple having been installed in their land, at the famous Times Square.
It is the endeavour of noted chef Vikas Khanna because of which this piece of huge attraction has been installed in the US.
Prior to the unveiling, Khanna tweeted "BILLIONS OF EYES WORLDWIDE WILL BE ON ODISHA TOMORROW" (sic)
In another Tweet, Khana said he has been inspired by the sand Konark wheel sculptured by renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik.
Patnaik too in a tweet thanked Khana for all his efforts to showcase Odisha’s art and culture in foreign land.

It is learned that the sculptors of the Lalitgiri area in Jajpur district have made a replica of the Konark wheel.
