An all-party Indian delegation, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, has strongly condemned Pakistan-sponsored terrorism during a diplomatic outreach visit to Bahrain.

The team was one of a seven-team delegation briefing nations and their diplomats on India’s Operation Sindoor.

The delegation also spelt out India’s new doctrine to counter global misinformation and highlight its zero-tolerance policy on terrorism following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, in which 26 Indian citizens were killed after being identified by religion.

Speaking to Indian diaspora leaders and dignitaries in Bahrain, Panda declared, “We will no longer be blackmailed by their nuclear bluff… Our response will be measured but firm. It will never escalate to nuclear levels because our intention is not hostility, our aim is deterrence.”

He also praised the Bahrain government’s consistent support and its strong condemnation of the recent attack.

‘Talks and terror can’t go hand in hand’

Panda outlined India’s changed security doctrine, stating that decades of peace efforts with Pakistan have failed.

“We tried talks, cultural exchanges, even PMs travelling by bus. But none of it worked,” he said. Instead, India is now committed to imposing costs on cross-border provocations without escalating conflict.

He reaffirmed that future responses will be precise and calibrated, targeting terror infrastructure, not civilians.

Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla echoed these sentiments, describing India’s airstrikes as ‘targeted’ and lauding indigenous defence systems like Akash for neutralising Pakistan’s drone-based aggression.

Delegation emphasizes bilateralism, Trump’s comments

The Indian delegation reiterated that New Delhi does not accept third-party mediation. Panda clarified that the current ceasefire with Pakistan came only after its military initiated contact, not due to foreign intervention.

“Only when Pakistan’s DGMO called and said ‘you stop shooting, we stop shooting,’ did the ceasefire happen,” he said. The statement came on the face of repeated attempts by US President Donald Trump to take credit for brokering a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, MP Nishikant Dubey raised concerns about the IMF conditions imposed on Pakistan, citing warnings to Islamabad not to divert bailout funds and comply with tax reforms and transparency measures.
