Indian billionaire business magnate and ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away on Sunday. He was 62.

Known as the “Indian Warrant Buffet”, Jhunjhunwala who had an estimated net worth of 5.5 Billion dollar (as of July 2022), made him the 36th richest man in the country.

Born to a Rajasthani family and son of an Income Tax Officer, Jhunjhunwala’s journey to great heights in the field of business started quite early during his college days when he started investment with a capital of Rs 5000.

He was also popularly referred to as the "Big Bull of Dalal Street" for his magnificent stock market predictions.

Apart from being an active investor, Jhunjhunwala chaired Aptech Limited and Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Private Ltd. and was also in the board of directors of Prime Focus Limited, Provogue India Limited, Geojit Financial Services and many other top listed companies. 

Recently he had tied up with former Jet Airways CEO Vinay Dubey to set up budget airline carrier Akasa Air.

Meanwhile netizens outpoured condolences for the departed ace stock investor on various social media platforms. From the common man to noted personalities, people from all walks of life paid tributes to Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

PM Modi took to Twitter to share a heartfelt note in memory of Jhunjhunwala. 

“He was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about India’s progress. His passing away is saddening. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” Modi tweeted.
