'Take pledge to ensure safety and respect of women': President Murmu, PM Modi greet on Raksha Bandhan

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi among others greeted the country's citizens. 

As a mark of respect for the Kolkata rape and murder victim, President Murmu urged the people of the country to take a pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women.

“On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the countrymen. This festival, based on the feeling of love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters, instills a feeling of affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters. I want that on this festival day, all the countrymen take a pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women in our society,” tweeted President Murmu.
