Srinagar hosted the first-ever Formula 4 car racing demonstration event on Sunday on the banks of the picturesque Dal Lake. The event enthralled locals, motorsport fans and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi as they witnessed stunts performed by professional Formula 4 drivers.

The Boulevard road at the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range was one of the most scenic circuits in the world as the test racing was held from Lalit Ghat to Nehru Park in the city.

The Formula 4 racing demonstration event was organised by Formula 4 in collaboration with the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India, which is affiliated to the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), under the aegis of Kashmir's Tourism Department.

A car and bike stunt show was also held after the Formula 4 event as hundreds of locals gathered at the Boulevard, enjoying the adrenaline-pumping action which unfolded in front of the majestic Himalayas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a social media post, appreciated the efforts of the organisers and marvelled at the beautiful visuals from the Formula 4 racing event in Srinagar.

Taking to ‘X’, PM Modi wrote, “This is very heartening to see. It will help further showcase the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir. India offers great opportunities for motorsports to thrive and Srinagar is right on top of the places where it can happen!”

The racing demonstration along the banks of the Dal Lake was held to promote motorsports in Jammu and Kashmir.
