After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pictures from his visit to Lakshadweep emerged on social media, there is a significant surge in Google searches for this destination on the internet.

The viral pictures on social media prompted many celebrities to encourage people to consider vacationing on the nation's own island, Lakshadweep, instead of visiting other countries.

So, if you are also planning to visit Lakshadweep, here is your guide before embarking on your unforgettable journey.

Let's take a look at everything you need to know, from hotel costs and ticket prices to the best spots:

Lakshadweep is one of India's eight Union Territories, having become a part of India in 1956.

It comprises a total of 36 islands, 12 atolls, and 3 reefs, with only 10 of the 36 islands being inhabited.

How to Reach Lakshadweep?

First-time visitors are often curious about how to reach this destination.

Travelers can reach Lakshadweep from Kochi using either flights or ships.

How to Get Access to Lakshadweep?

Lakshadweep is restricted and requires a permit issued by the Lakshadweep administration, based in Kochi.

After obtaining the permit, download the clearance certificate and get it approved by a local police station.

After obtaining the clearance certificate, download the entry permit or visit the Lakshadweep administration office in Willingdon Island, Kochi, to get it done in person.

Upon reaching Lakshadweep, submit the entry permit to the station house officer.
