NEET PG 2024 counselling percentile, eligibility criteria changed: Check details
In a move that is expected to impact thousands of students across the country, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), on Monday, announced significant changes to the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) PG 2024 counselling eligibility criteria.
In an official notification, the MCC revealed that the cut-off percentile for participation in the counselling process has been reduced with the aim of making the counselling process more inclusive and accessible to a broader range of candidates.
For candidates belonging to the General and EWS categories, the new eligibility cut-off is 15 percentile and above. Similarly, for those in the SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories, the cut-off has been lowered to 10 percentile and above.
Incidentally, the cut-off percentile last year was much higher standing at 50 percentile for the general category and 40 percentile for the reserved categories.
The MCC's decision follows consultations with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is expected to benefit many aspiring medical professionals by increasing their chances of securing a postgraduate seat.
Meanwhile, candidates who have registered for Round 3 of the NEET PG 2024 counselling can check the seat allotment results through the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
