Poonam Devi, who was among the 100 special invitees at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 'National Conclave: Mann Ki Baat@100', gave birth to a healthy baby boy after going into labour at the event.

Poonam Devi experienced labour during the event and was rushed to Dr Ram Manhor Lohia Hospital in the national capital where she delivered a baby boy.

The heartwarming moment at the Mann Ki Baat@100 in New Delhi has been receiving lots of love from people across the globe. The 100th episode of PM Modi’s monthly radio address to fellow countrymen will be aired on Sunday.

As per a report in ANI, Poonam is a member of an SHG from a small village near Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. Her SHG creates various products from waste banana stems like handbags, mats and other items using fibre.

PM Narendra Modi had made a special reference to Poonam Devi during one of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episodes and applauded her and other SHG members. So, she was a special invitee for the National Conclave: Mann Ki Baat@100.

However, she went into labour at the event and was rushed to a hospital where she delivered a baby boy.

Speaking to ANI, Poonam’s said she is overjoyed to have welcomed a new member into their family on such a momentous day.

Worth mentioning, the National Conclave: Mann Ki Baat@100 event was inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishaw, Anurag Thakur and Amit Shah also graced the event.
