The 76th Republic Day is around the corner and the Indian Army is leaving no stone unturned for the grand celebrations. This year’s parade will reflect the strength, diversity and resilience of India’s defence.

According to reports, this year’s Republic Day Parade will feature six marching contingents from the Army, which will include the Brigade of the Guards, Mahar regiment, Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, and Corps of Signals.

Apart from the parade, a diverse array of equipment will be on display that will highlight the technological prowess of the armed forces with contingents featuring T-92 Bhishma, ICV BMP-II (Sarath) and NAMIS (NAG Missile System).

All About 'Nandighosh' - The Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle

The major attraction this year will be the Nandighosh, a quick reaction fighting vehicle. The vehicle is known for emphasizing rapid deployment capabilities with inherent protection facilities. It comes in a 4*4 configuration and is an armoured personnel carrier with mine protection.

It was developed to serve as a mine-proof troop transport vehicle and is used by forces as a special response vehicle to counter the insurgency. As per reports, these vehicles come with blast protection offering protection from explosives of 14kg and 21kg.

The vehicle can carry a total of 14 crew members, including the driver, and can also carry a payload of up to two tons. It can ensure mobility across all terrains and includes ten firing portals and a 360-degree rotating turret on the vehicle’s roof. 

Apart from these, Chetak all-terrain vehicles, Akash air defence weapon system, BrahMos missile system, Grad BM-21 rocket launchers and Bajrang light strike vehicle will also enthral the audiences as well as the distinguished guests attending the glittering ceremony at the Kartavya Path on January 26.
