Crime scene
In a deeply disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, a woman allegedly murdered her seven-year-old daughter with the help of her live-in partner and went on a partying spree, leaving the child’s body hidden in a bed box. The crime occurred on the night of July 13 in Khundari Bazaar under the Kaiserbagh police limits.
Roshni Khan alias Naaz and her partner Udit Jaiswal reportedly strangled little Sona after she pleaded to live with her biological father, Shahrukh Khan. The child was against her mother's illicit relationship. As per police, the duo beat and suffocated the child before stuffing her body in the bed box.
On July 14, the accused went drinking and clubbing across the city. Returning home early on July 15, Roshni tried to suppress the foul smell from the decomposing body using deodorants and the air-conditioner. She then called the police control room, falsely alleging her estranged husband had killed their daughter.
Contradictions in Roshni’s version emerged quickly. CCTV footage, call records, and witness testimonies disproved her claims. Udit broke down during interrogation, and post-mortem confirmed death by suffocation 36 to 48 hours earlier. Roshni had earlier assaulted her husband and thrown him out on May 18. He had an alibi, being at his sister’s place during the crime.
According to Hindustan times, Neighbours described Roshni as addicted to partying and frequently neglectful of her daughter. She was also active on Instagram, posting reels with high-profile individuals. Police say she planned to frame her husband and grab the property.
Both Roshni and Udit have been arrested. What began as a desperate attempt to frame an innocent man ended in a cold-blooded murder cracked by sharp police work and confession.
