Indian Railways along with the IRCTC has developed a new way to provide city-wise search results to train passengers.

Usually, IRCTC provides search results from a particular station to another station. But from now on, people can search from one city to another city irrespective of stations.

According to the new feature, when people will search for Bhubaneswar, it will show them stations including Vani Vihar, Mancheswar, and Master Canteen. It will show all the trains making stoppages at all those stations, making it easy for people to make travel plans.

It will also show the nearest stations to a particular city in the search results.

Similarly, if a person searches for Jharsuguda, the result will show, Jharsuguda junction, Belpahar, Brajarajnagar, and Jharsuguda Road.

In a search directed towards Sambalpur, the results will show Sambalpur Junction, Hirakud, Sambalpur Road, and Sambalpur City.

The new search feature was launched across India on Saturday and passengers will be able to avail this facility from today.

Speaking about the new feature, the CPRO of East Coast Railway Biswajit Sahu said, “It will simplify the search to a great extent. For the people who do not know which station to arrive to visit a particular place, this will help them a lot. We are in the process of including tourist places as well.”
