Indian Army Day is celebrated every year on the 15th of January. The day is observed in remembrance of Field Marshal KM Cariappa, who became the first Commander in Chief of the Indian Army replacing the British commanding General, Sir Robert Roy Francis Bucher. 

On Army Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu and many other leaders have extended greetings to the people of the nation and also reminisced about the glorious chapter of the Indian Army’s unsung valor that will swell the chest of every Indian with pride.

Similarly, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu also extended her heartfelt greetings and wrote, “On Army Day, let us recall countless stories of Indian Army Soldiers’ sacrifices! They have always pushed the frontiers of valour and courage, and also acted as saviours in times of calamities. I salute all brave soldiers of the Indian Army and their families on this occasion.”

Taking to his Twitter handle, PM Modi shared incredible pictures of Indian Army soldiers and wrote, “On Army Day, I convey my best wishes to all army personnel, veterans and their families. Every Indian is proud of our Army and will always be grateful to our soldiers. They have always kept our nation safe and are widely admired for their service during times of crisis.”

“Greetings to all Indian Army personnel and their families on #ArmyDay. The nation salutes their indomitable courage, valour, sacrifices and service. We are proud of the Indian Army’s efforts to keep India safe and secure,” shared Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India.

Similarly, JP Nadda, National President, BJP wrote, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families of the Indian Army, who are the symbol of indomitable courage, bravery, bravery and valor, on the occasion of 'Army Day'. I salute your sacrifice, dedication and sacrifice towards the motherland. You are always an inspiration to all of us countrymen.”
