India is now on the moon; dawn of new India, says PM Modi on successful soft-landing of ISRO's third lunar mission

With this, India became the fourth nation in the world to achieve the feat. However, India is the first country to land on the lunar South Pole.

As people across the country waited with bated breath, India on Wednesday scripted history after its Chandrayaan-3 lander successfully touched down on the moon's South Pole.

With this, India became the fourth nation in the world to achieve the feat. However, India is the first country to land on the lunar South Pole.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the ISRO scientists and the people of the country.

“India is the first country to land on the lunar South Pole with Chandrayaan-3 mission. India's successful Moon mission is not just India's alone...This success belongs to all of humanity,” said Modi.

According to Modi, no country has reached the South Pole of the moon before. With the hard work of our scientists we have reached there, he said.

On the soft landing of ISRO’s third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3, PM Modi said, “When we see such historic moments it makes us very proud. This is the dawn of new India."

Soon after the soft landing, the entire country erupted in joy. From politicians, celebrities, and students to the common man, everybody was soaked in celebration of the historic feat.

ISRO chief S Somanath also congratulated his team on the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3.
