Condemning the killing of a 25-year-old man over interfaith marriage at Saroornagar in Telangana, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi termed the murder as a ‘criminal act’ as per the Indian Constitution and Islam.

Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, Owaisi said, “We condemn the killing. As the woman decided to marry the man, her brother has no rights to kill her husband. This is a criminal act and against Islam.”

"Since yesterday, the murder is being given another colour. The police have arrested the accused immediately. We do not stand with the murderers," he added.

It is worthwhile to mention that one Billipuram Nagaraju was murdered over interfaith marriage at Saroornagar in Telangana. Nagaraju had married one Ashrin Sulthana alias Pallavi.

Irate over the interfaith marriage, two relatives of Pallavi attacked Nagaraju with an iron rod and stabbed him on Wednesday night near Panjala Anil Kumar Colony in Saroornagar causing his death on the spot.

Saroornagar police arrested two relatives of Pallavi, identified as Syed Mobin Ahmed (brother) and Mohammed Masood Ahmed, for their involvement in the murder.
