Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday held a pre-budget stakeholder meeting with BJP leaders and other intellectuals associated with the party.

Functionaries from 25 BJP State units participated in the virtual discussion ahead of the budget session for the year 2022-23 which is scheduled to begin from January 31. 

The consultation was attended by senior BJP leaders including party's national Vice President Baijayant Panda, General Secretary Arun Singh, among others, the party said in a statement.

Noted think-tank members, presidents of party's various Morchas presented their views on how the budget should be outlined to fulfil the aspirations of all sections of society with holistic development of the country.

Taking to Twitter, Jay Panda shared some moments of the interaction.

'In her series of consultations with various public stakeholders on the upcoming budget, today Finance Minister @nsitharaman interacted with @BJP4India state units & morchas. Along with colleagues @ArunSinghbjp & @gopalkagarwal, it was my honour to help arrange & participate in it,' Panda wrote on his Twitter page.

As per an ANI report, 20 written applications have been submitted to the Finance Minister to consider requests ahead of the rollout of the Union budget.

Union Budget 2022-23:-

The Budget Session of Parliament will begin on January 31. As per the official announcement, the 2022 Budget Session will be held in two parts and continue till April 8.

The Economic Survey will be presented on January 31 followed by the Union budget on February 1. The President will also address both Houses of Parliament assembled together at 11 am on January 31.
