The Odisha Crime Branch probing the high-profile espionage case at the Chandipur DRDO Integrated Test Range (ITR) on Wednesday came out with some shocking revelations regarding honey trapping angle in the sensational case.

As per sources from the Crime Branch which is presently interrogating the five arrested contractual and permanent employees of the missile testing station under remand has said that the a mysterious agent apparently a woman was behind the spy ring.

The female operative has been in contact with all the five arrested staff of the DRDO ITR centre with different identity and names since February 2020 and is suspected to have been eliciting sensitive defence secrets from them.

From establishing herself as a resident of the UK’s Liverpool to a native of Rajasthan, the agent even identified herself to one of the DRDO staff as a defence staff while with another she suggested to be a nurse.

She used to get in touch with all of them for sharing and exchanging information through various social media platforms either by Whatsapp video calling, Facebook calling and message in English and Hindi through a UK based telephone number.

But the most shocking revelation is that the agent had even promised few of them to marry, said the Crime Branch sources.

The probe agency is reportedly trying to trace the source of the UK number through which the agent was establishing communication with the five accused. It is also believed that the Crime Branch is trying to make contact with the UK authorities with the help of central agencies. Yesterday, Odisha Crime Branch Traced Money Trail To UP Handlers, Pakistan.

Earlier on Tuesday, Crime Branch ADG, Sanjeeb Panda had also made some sensational disclosures said that one of the five accused, who have been arrested so far in the case, received cash transfer of around Rs 38,000 from a bank account in Dubai. The money was transferred to the accused’s account in two instalments.
