Don’t be surprised if airlines charge ‘Cute fee’ from you; here’s all you need to know

After a recent tweet by a man claiming that the train in which he was tarvelling was hijacked triggered a memefest, another tweet on ‘Cute fee’ by an airline has gone viral on social media.

A Twitterati expressed his shockscreenshot after IndiGO charged Rs 100 ‘Cute charge’ in the airfare. The user named Shantanu shared a screen shot and tweeted, “I know I’m getting cuter with age but never thought IndiGO would start charging me for it.”

Shantanu’s joking tweet soon became viral, triggering a memefest.

IndiGO was also quick to respond. “Sir, "Cute charge" stands for 'Common User Terminal Equipment' and is charged by the Airport Authority of India. Please visit http://bit.ly/2UZPjlA to know more. However, seeing how charming you are, there should be definitely a "Cute" charge to your flight fare.”

Later, the Twitterati tweeted, “Ok this seems to have attracted a lot of attention overnight. Thanks to all those trying to educate me about what “cute” stands for.
