CUET-UG
The University Grants Commission (UGC) Chief M Jagadesh Kumar announced a slew of changes for the upcoming Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2025 for both the undergraduate and postgraduate examinations.
Changes have been made to the exam subjects, pattern, mode, and duration to allow more transparency and simplicity for the students taking the exam.
Here is a list of all the changes the UGC has made:
From 2025 onwards, CUET will only be conducted online (CBT mode). As such, the hybrid mode has been discontinued.
For CUET 2025, the subjects have been reduced from 63 to 37. Admissions for the removed subjects will rely on General Aptitude Test (GAT) scores.
Candidates can select subjects not taken in Class 12. The number of subjects students can choose has been reduced to five.
CUET will now have a fixed duration of 60 minutes, unlike the previous range of 45 to 60 minutes depending on the subject.
In CUET 2025, optional questions have been eliminated, making all questions compulsory from this year onwards.
The CUET UG 2025 exam is expected to be held in May or June 2025 in CBT mode. Registration will begin in the last week of February 2025. Candidates have been advised to check the official NTA CUET UG website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG or cuetug.ntaonline.in, for latest details.
