The waiting for a direct ride to the paradise of sun, sand and sea seems to be over now.

In a big cheer for air travellers from Odisha, the director of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Saturday announced that direct flight service will soon be available from the Odisha Capital city to Goa.

The direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Goa will commence from December 2021. Air travellers can avail the flights on all days of the week, said Pravat Ranjan Beuria, the director of BPIA.

Budget airline IndiGo will commence domestic direct flight service from Bhubaneswar to Goa on December 1 while the return flight from Goa to Bhubaneswar is scheduled to begin from the next day.

As per the schedule, IndiGo flight will depart from the Odisha Capital city at 10.30 PM every day while the plane from Goa to Bhubaneswar will fly daily at 1.35 PM.

The direct flights between Odisha and Goa will help usher in tourism and development in both the States which share a considerable space in the tourism industry in the country.

Similarly, travelling to the Pink City Jaipur from the temple city of Bhubaneswar and vice-versa will be much convenient and hassle-free as IndiGO airlines will start direct flight services between both the historic cities from November 2, 2021.

Responding to a request by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia has agreed to start direct flight operation between the two states.
