In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Tarun Saxena, a 42-year-old area manager at Bajaj Finance in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, tragically took his own life allegedly due to immense workplace pressure. He left a suicide note revealing the 'relentless demands from supervisors and threats over salary reductions'.
Tarun was found dead earlier this morning by his house help. Describing the suffocating pressure under which he was operating while collecting EMIs on loans had crippled him with a constant fear of losing his job. "I am very tense about the future. I have lost my ability to think. I am going," he wrote, detailing how his pleas for assistance were ignored and how he endured constant humiliation from his seniors.
Tarun also shared his concerns about the welfare of his family. In his purported note, he assured his wife Megha that he had paid their children's school fees for the year. He requested his parents to finish the second storey of their home for his family's comfort and told his children to study well and take care of their mother.
According to the reports in NDTV, Senior police officer Vinod Kumar Gautam said that they are examining the post-mortem report regarding Tarun Saxena's tragic suicide.
In a chilling note, he named his seniors as responsible for his tragic decision and urged his family to file a police complaint against them, leaving a haunting call for justice.
Gautam added that the investigation is on a suicide note, which states that Tarun was being coerced by his superiors to achieve unattainable targets. He said the police will not have any hesitations in taking action if Tarun's family lodges a formal complaint.
Despite the gravity of this incident, Bajaj Finance has not issued a statement. How many more lives must be impacted before workplace wellbeing becomes a priority?
