Ayodhya Ram temple consecration ceremony: AI for security likely, know all about it

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

The government may use AI for security in Ayodhya for the upcoming Ram temple consecration ceremony and even after that to protect the temple and its surrounding area.

AI in Ayodhya

The inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya will take place on January 22. As the date is drawing closer, the government bodies of Uttar Pradesh are taking every step to ensure that the VIPs and the invitees are offered proper facilities and security cover. Protection of the temple as well as that of the entire surroundings and visitors is now being considered by the UP government as a prime issue.

Already the government has deployed 11,000 state police and paramilitary forces for the consecration ceremony. It is expected that after the inauguration the number of visitors visiting the temple in Ayodhya will increase rapidly. Hence new measures and technology might be put to use in the coming days.

According to a senior police officer, it is most likely that AI surveillance will be made an integral part of the surveillance and security drill. The officer told the Deccan Herald, “The threat perception of Ram temple is high. So, we need to keep a tight vigil on all movements in Ayodhya.”

He added, “The AI surveillance could help in detecting frequent visitors or any common trend followed by a group of people, or any other suspicious trend spotted within the temple premises. A security alert would be raised automatically, and security agencies would be able to follow up.”

The officer reported that both manual and social media vigilance were already in place in the red zone area of the temple ahead of the inauguration with 38 local officers keeping vigilance on every movement in and around the temple.

Two arrested after bomb threats

Two people who threatened bomb blasts have already been arrested in Uttar Pradesh. While the final security strategy is yet to be confirmed, verification of individuals in the city like hotel staff, taxi drivers, e-rickshaw drivers, residents as well as priests, and beggars around the temple has already started.

Verification of the guests and their staff is also underway to ensure no untoward incident occurs on January 22.
