Ankita Bhandari murder case latest update is on the draft post-mortem report of the victim that revealed asphyxia due to drowning as the cause of death. Amid the nation-wide outrage over the murder of the 19-year-old girl, the draft autopsy report also found injury marks on her body suggesting blunt force trauma.

The three accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case- Pulkit Arya, Ankit Gupta, and Saurabh Bhaskar- had earlier confessed to the crime that they murdered Ankita and threw her in the Rishikesh Chila barrage in Uttarakhand.

Ankita Bhandari was working as a receptionist in Yamkeshwar Vidhan Sabha’s Ganga Bhojpur resort named 'Vanantra resort owned by Pulkit Arya, son of expelled BJP leader Vinod Arya. Ankita went missing on September 18, after she reportedly had an argument with Pulkit, the resort manager Ankit, and Saurabh as she refused the demand of the resort owner for 'special services.

Ankita's body was recovered on Saturday from Chilla canal where the trio had allegedly dumped her. All the accused were sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court on Friday.

Ankita Bhandari murder case latest update: Revelations by Police

Pulkit Arya had pressurised Ankita to provide 'special service' to the guests at his resort, informed DGP Ashok Kumar on Saturday. Pulkit and other accused used to pressurise Ankita to have physical relationship with the guests and she had told this to some of her friends, he said.

Kumar further said that the police have got some important evidence from the screenshots found from the deceased's mobile phone. About the murder case, he said there must have been a scuffle between them over the same after which this heinous crime was carried out.

On September 18, there was a dispute between Ankita and the accused on the same issue after which she was taken out on a two-wheeler. On the way, Ankita again had an argument with the three accused following which she was pushed into a canal. The accused trio then returned to the resort and told everyone a new story, the DCP added. 

Ankita Bhandari murder case latest update: Action by Uttarakhand Government

The BJP government in the State has already expelled Vinod Arya and his other son Ankit Arya with immediate effect. Besides, the resort was demolished following Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s orders. 

Orders have also been issued to look into the resorts illegally operating in the State.

 Moreover, CM Dhami has ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder case.
