Just a few days after the Chandigarh University video leak incident snowballed into a full-blown storm, girl students of a hostel in Kanpur alleged that a staff at their building recorded their videos while they were taking bath.

One employee at their hostel building recorded their videos while they were taking bath, the irate girls alleged and staged protest.

The matter came to the fore after a group of girls reached the local police station and protested over inaction despite a complaint.

The incident has sparked row as it has parallels to the Chandigarh University controversy. Just a few weeks ago, a video from the girls' hostel was leaked, sparking massive protests by students.

Now, in UP’s Kanpur, the girl students of Sai Niwas Girls' Hostel alleged that they spotted the staff recording their videos. When they checked his phone, they found obscene videos, particularly of girl students taking bath.

The students alleged the employee shot the videos from the skylight of the hostel building.

"We have filed a complaint, but no action has been taken till now," a student told reporters outside the police station.

However, police refuted the allegations and said that the employee was arrested and a case has been filed. The mobile phone has been sent for forensic analysis, the cops said.
