While the valour and creed of the Indian Army are second to none, its bravery and a knack of avenging any attack on the country's soil is well known across the world.

A recent video circulating in Twitter which shows an injured CRPF soldier in hospital called on by Lt Gen DP Pandey, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Indian Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, can be termed as the latest example of Indian Army’s bravery and camaraderie.

CRPF Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Niranjan Singh was nursing his injuries he had sustained after being shot by terrorists in Kashmir valley recently, when Pandey visited him at the bed.

As the Chinar Corps Commander tells him to not lose hope, apart from the affirmative response, the CRPF Jawan has one request of his senior officer: 'Maar Do Unko' ('Kill them').

Pandey then assures him that the terrorists will be gunned down. On being told that Singh harbours a lot of anger, Pandey says that's a good thing, because it will help him recover quickly. The Commander then encourages him to get well soon and eliminate the terrorists himself.

However, to Singh’s surprise, even before he fully recovers, Lt Gen Pandey returns to the hospital and informs him that the two terrorists who had shot him, have been eliminated, thereby keeping his promise to Singh.

While the video is making rounds in almost all social media platforms, some veteran Army officers, including KJS Dhillon have retweeted it saying 'some promises are honor codes'.
