After a long wait, the Narendra Modi government has finally approved hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the Central government employees to 28 per cent, Check Salary Hike As Per 7th Pay Commission Calculation.

The Centre on Wednesday approved the DA hike from the present 17 per cent to 28 per cent. This decision of the Union Cabinet has come as a big relief for the Central government employees as it was freezed last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Dearness Allowance for Central government employees and pensioners has been increased from 17% to 28%, and this will be applicable from 1st July 2021, informed Union Minister Anurag Thakur.

Though there has been the hike in DA, there is no confirmation whether the central government employees will get the benefits of the revised DA from September.

DA of the Central government employees is revised twice a year. At least three increments are due as of now apart from the one already announced last year which was not implemented.

If reports are to be believed, the 11 per cent hike announcement has come after adding three pending DAs, which includes the 4 per cent DA announced for January to June 2020, including the allowance for the period July to December 2020 and January to June 2021.
