A woman who has staged a sit-in outside her boyfriend’s house for last ten days seeking wife recognition had to allegedly confront some unpleasant situations on Thursday with some people uprooting the tent put up by her at Deshi Behara Sahi in Berhampur.

The woman has been identified as Deepika.

According to sources, Deepika has been on a dharna in front of her boyfriend K Dinesh’s house for the last ten days demanding marriage with him.

She claimed that Dinesh had developed love relationship with her for two years. When she became pregnant Dinesh distanced himself from her. In the process she gave birth to a baby boy. Despite being a father to the baby boy, Dinesh declined to marry her. In the mean time, she came to know that Dinesh's parents will soon solemnise his marriage.

Unhappy with the news, Deepika launched a protest seeking justice. Recently, social activist Pramila Tripathy joined Deepika in her protest.
On Thursday, Deepika alleged that her tent was uprooted by locals. Dinesh’s parents abused her like anything.

Pramila alleged tension ran high after a few locals uprooted her tent. Dinesh’s parents, brother and uncle allegedly used derogatory language against Deepika.  They allegedly threw burning charcoal on her and tried to slit her neck. They pushed her to vacate the place.
