BJD MLA from Chilika Assembly Constituency, Prashant Jagdev has stirred yet another controversy after a purported video of him hurling abuses at a woman who inquired about the developmental works done in his constituency went viral on social media.

As per reports, MLA Jagdev attended a political gathering in a Kalyan mandap inside Meghambari temple under Nandapur panchayat of Banapur block in Khordha district on December 12.

While the MLA was addressing the crowd of people inside the hall, a woman reportedly tried to ask him question over work done by him in the area.

In the viral video, it can be seen that after hearing the woman muttering some questions, Jagdev lost his cool and went out of line. He even yelled aggressively at her asking to leave the meeting if she wasn't interested.

When some people in the crowd tried to video record the episode, Jagdev reportedly tried to snatch one person's mobile phone.

On the other hand, no response from the MLA has been received in this regard yet.

This is not the first time that allegations of such misbehavior have surfaced against MLA Jagdev. Earlier, on September 8, Jagdev had allegedly abused and slapped BJP’s Balugaon Nagar Circle President Niranjan Sethi in full public glare.

He had surrendered before the Additional District Judge’s Court in Khordha on October 8 in connection with the assault case and was remanded to judicial custody after rejection of his bail petition. On October 21, the Orissa High Court granted him conditional bail.
