Video of people offering puja at Barimula Sarathi Ashram goes viral

Sarathi Ashram, located at Barimula in Kendrapara district, is once again in news after a video of Sarathi alias Santosh Roul’s followers worshipping his photo in the ashram went viral on Saturday. 

In the video, followers of Sarathi can be seen placing the photo of him on a pedestal, doing yajna and offering ‘puja’ with flowers and sandalwood paste.  They can also be seen offering a mass prayer.  

Questions are now raised as to how the followers could enter the ashram when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had already attached the properties of Sarathi on July 27, 2019. 

Resentment brewed among the locals soon after the video of the mass prayer at the Barimula ashram went viral on social media platforms.

The reaction of the administration could not be obtained on the matter. It will be updated once and when the authorities concerned respond.
